The accessories on clothes are beautiful, but not easy to clean. Dealing with them without enough care can cause the condition of color fading or falling. Even clothes can be stained and scratched in severe conditions. How should laundry shops clean clothes with many accessories properly?
Types and Textures of Accessories
- Metal accessories should be sewn with cloth, and metal zipper heads should be fixed with thread seams. These are all for avoiding the loss or damage of the accessories in the inner drum of the washing machines.
- Clothes with paint printing accessories generally should avoid dry cleaning to protect the print and pattern on the accessories.
- Some plush toys’ eyes may easily interact with dry cleaning solvent. After washing, the eyes become vague and ugly.
- Buttons on the clothes should be handled carefully as well:
Aluminum buttons should be protected from cracking.
Plastic buttons should be protected from melting. ( Better to remove it before washing.)
The toggle button should be fastened, and inside should be turned out for washing.
Fixing Ways of Accessories
Sewn accessories should be checked before washing to see whether they are strong enough or not.
The adhesive accessories are more suitable for water cleaning. If dry cleaning is used, the glue may chemically interact with the dry cleaning agent and cause the accessories to fall off.
It is best to first conduct a test on the fixed parts of the accessories with the dry cleaning agent. If there is no chemical reaction, dry cleaning can be adopted. If there is a chemical reaction, the accessories should be removed before cleaning.
Adjustment of Washing Programs
To ensure laundry efficiency, clothes with accessories should be put in the mesh laundry bags and washed separately. The washing programs should be adjusted on the basis of the gentle wash program. Generally, it is washed at a low temperature for 5 minutes.
