Reliable Reducing Bleaching Agents for Laundry Shops

Today, let’s talk about reliable reducing agents for laundry shops.

Characteristics

Sodium bisulfite is a powder-reducing bleacher. It is a relatively safe reducing bleaching agent, which is acidic. Though sodium bisulfite’s function is mild, after the sodium bisulfite is used, the textiles must be rinsed thoroughly. The residue may lead to the fading of colors. For those colored fabrics with questionable color fastness, partial treatment should be done in the concealed area to ensure that it has no risk of color fading.Safe Reducing Bleach Methods for Laundry Shops

Method

❑ Partial treatment:

Directly sprinkle the powder evenly on the surface of the stain → Spray with a steam gun to activate the agent;

Dissolve the powder in water in advance → Make it into a solution → Apply it to the stain.

❑ Scenario:

It can effectively remove stubborn stains (dye stains and wine stains). After the application, rinsing is needed instead of neutralization.

Safe Soak Bleaching Operation Guide

In the process of soak bleaching, the textiles contact the bleacher for a long time and this can easily lead to dye leakage. As a result, people should choose the agents carefully. There are two relatively safe schemes.

  • Hydrogen Peroxide Soak Bleachingsafe bleach for colored fabrics

Safety:

Compared with other bleaching agents, the 3% to 6% hydrogen peroxide has a relatively small impact on fabric color. It is suitable for the gentle bleaching of light-colored fabrics or colored fabrics.

Proportioning and steps:

20g of 6% hydrogen peroxide for 4 liters of water; 40g of 3% hydrogen peroxide for 4 liters of water.

Soak the fabric for 10 to 15 minutes → Gently rub it during the process to assist in removing dirt → After soaking, rinse thoroughly with clean water to prevent residual chemicals from damaging the fibers.

  • Sodium Bisulfite Soak Bleaching

Advantages:

As a reducing bleach, it is suitable for removing dye-based stains (wine stains and color stains). Its safety is better than that of strong oxidizing bleach.

Proportioning and steps:

60g of sodium bisulfite powder in 4 liters of water → stir until completely dissolved → Soak the fabric for 10 to 15 minutes → Gently scrub the key stains → Rinse repeatedly with clean water to ensure no chemical residue and no fading.

Important tips:

  1. Check the fabric washing label before bath rinsing to confirm the “bleach available”
  2. For colored fabrics, sodium bisulfite or low-concentration hydrogen peroxide should be chosen first, and the use of chlorine-containing bleaches (like sodium hypochlorite) should be avoided.
  3. Wearing rubber gloves when operating can help avoid direct contact of the agent with the skin.
